Senior Quantity Surveyor

Job Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor – Construction

The Opportunity

An established and well-regarded regional main contractor is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead the commercial delivery of a range of building projects across the Yorkshire region. 

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced QS looking to take on more responsibility, with a business that values long-term relationships, professional development, and high-quality delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take full commercial ownership of projects from pre-construction through to final account

  • Manage subcontractor procurement, payments, and performance

  • Lead contract administration under JCT and/or NEC forms

  • Oversee cost reporting, CVRs, forecasting, and risk management

  • Provide commercial input into tendering and bid submissions

  • Collaborate with project delivery teams to ensure commercial and operational alignment

  • Mentor and support junior members of the commercial team where required

  • Maintain strong client and supply chain relationships

About You

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior QS on building/construction projects

  • Strong working knowledge of JCT (essential) and NEC (advantageous)

  • Excellent financial and contractual acumen

  • Capable of working autonomously and managing multiple live projects

  • Confident communicator, both written and verbal

  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites locally
